Ok, I guess the last thing you veterans need is another know-nothing-noobie question about how much do I need. But here it goes.

I will be camping almost all the time, walking wherever I can and eating baguettes and cheese all the time. I do drink like a fish, I guess maybe a crate of about 10 bottles form a supermarket every few days would suffice, maybe a splash at the weekend. I cant imagine spending too much on museum trips etc, maybe only once a week.

Will €30 a day suffice? This will have to include eating, campground prices, and the drink.

I know there is no straight answer, but the answer thats least like a circle wins a watch.

I am new as well but I will try and help

camp: €5
food: €5-€10
other (tours, drimks): €15

that would let you work off that budget....but that does not take any transportaion costs into effect. Also, that does limit your drinking in the bars and clubs money too.

I think that you are going to be cutting yourself short if you try and make it on thirty€ a day. I think that If I were you i would try and bump that number up to forty or so. I am not saying that it can't be done, because it definitly can be done...on even less..you'll just have to decide whats more important drinking or food.

Guiness. One for breakfast, on for lunch, and a reasonable dinner.

I second that motion, STS.

Beer makes life good... inhibitions are bad =)

Does anyone think 40 CDN a day is good enough for food/attractions/drink/local transport? That amounts to about 26 euros i think. (can't find that little "e" button)

Dont think of it in terms of a certain amount per day. At least I dont. Some days you will need to spend more and some days you wont spend much at all. Just keep a eye on your overall remaining money and you can pretty much determine what you should be spending money on at the moment. Setting a daily budget would just be a drag.

Where are you travelling?
If its in Europe i would`nt keep drinking Guinness!I`ve gotten some vile, overpriced shite in some places!
Even here Guiness is pricey in the cities...of course its the cheapest(and the best in the world0 in the country pubs/old man pubs.

Think i`ll have myself a Guinness after work actually...emmm.

You wouldn't lose weight on Guiness that's for sure, walk into any pub in Ireland and look for the old man drinking guiness (he's in there somewhere) their usually big fat bastards that used bailing twine to hold up their pants.

It's a well known fact if you drink to much guiness you'll begin to get the urge to ware tweed next thing you know one of those capeens is on your head and haven't a clue what your talking about half the time but that doesn't stop you babbling on and on.
