I'm new to the forum and wanted some advice.

I've decided to trade in my car for a van and start driving across the US. I've budgeted for fuel and I'm planning on sleeping in the van. I'm sort of setting myself up to be a travelling digi-photographer and blogger, recording my travels along the way. I'm wondering, how much should I budget for food and booze(not while driving). I'm hoping to sell some prints and other type merch along the way. How much do you think I can accrue that way?

I'm pretty resourceful and don't mind working in different stops along the way. I was thinking about putting a sign on the van stating something to the effect of, "Will photograph for Gas, Food, or Shower." Do you think this a viable way of getting a bit more distance?

Thanks for any replies and suggestions.

you can work in restraunts or at gas stations for a set amount of cash a day, or keeping tips. my brother used to dishwash a week at a time and get about $150 a week, with free food (as long as no one is watching )

just be ready to work if you need to, and dont count on any money you have to last very far unless it is budgeted well.
