After much searching and endless research I have found the best source of cost per day numbers for just about any country. Lonely Planet has one online. All you have to do is go to LonelyPlanet.com and click on World Guide. You pick the region and country then click "Money and Costs" on the left side. My only complaint is that sometimes it is in USD and others in local currency so have an exchange rate site and a calculator handy when looking. I just wanted to share this with everyone out there trying to form a reasonable budget (like me!).
Happy Trails! foofiter  |
Here is the URL for the site:

Wow thanks guys!
Remember this post when backpacker of the year comes up again  I couldn't believe when I found it. My next project is to PDF all of those pages and make an "e-book" out of it. Peace foofiter  |
Sounds like a cool feature. Did they remove it from their site or am I being a retard? I don't see it.

Here is how to get the info:
1. Pick the reagion form the drop-down list 2. Pick the country from the other list. 3. Hit "go" 4. Click on "Money & Costs" on the left sidebar That's it. |
ah HA! :P
I was being too specific and chose the city instead of the country in the second drop down menu. Thank you. -_- |
