I'll be traveling to spain for 6 days. I'm spending 3 days in Barcelona and 3 days in Madrid. How much do you think I should bring, seeing as how i already have my money for my accomodations put to the side, also i won't be partying. I'm just not sure of how much to bring. Also, do you think i should bring it all in cash or keep some money on a credit card? And should I exchange my money here in the states or wait till I get to Spain. sorry this is forever long, but I leave soon and wasn't too sure about this issue.

Just do the credit card thing, that way you don't have to bring cash or worry about exchanging money.

yeah, don't bother bringing cash: it can be a pain in the arse to exchange over there. Bring a credit card and/or a visa check card, if you have one. Have a great time! You'll love spain!

Thanks... but are there any extra charges for using credit cards?
|
You will have to check with your credit card company - some cards do charge a small fee for currency conversions.
|
Generally, regardless of which credit card company you have, Visa or Mastercard charges a 1 percent fee anytime you use the card overseas. But since you're only going to be gone for 6 days as opposed to 6 weeks, it probably won't add up to too much.

How much you should bring all depends on how much you want to do.
If you're going to check out museums or other things lead by tour guides $50 euro will get you by & cover meals. If you're just doing walk about stuff, bring enough money to feed yourself for the day and some extra incase you see something you want to buy. Also budget some money for public transit. I've never been to Spain, but I assume they have something where you can buy a pass for the whole day. That'll probably run you about $8-10  |
