How much money do you guys think I would need to spend 2 weeks in Europe, starting off in London (3 days), then flying over to Paris (3 days), then flying to Madrid (2 days) maybe going down to Granada, then going to Faro and Lisbon, and heading back to London to go home, granted, I'll be staying at hostels the whole time and try to go to groceries stores and what not....

I am in Europe right now. I have to let everyone that hasn't been yet. London is very expensive. The US dollar there is weak! weak ! weak! Oh have I mentioned weak? I was only there for 1 day. Well it was my husband and I . I would watch the rates before spending too much time there. Lots of great sights/ history, but budget matters. Also for some of your travels you may want to look in to train passes vs flying. We flew into London from Dublin it was only 19 Euro each and from London to Amsterdam was $ 639.00 Pounds. We took the train then the ferry. Research is key. Sorry if I am being redundent per what you have read already.

first of all, I'd have to agree that money is an issue cuz the dollar sucks right now. Now that I've said that. you can get a cheap train ticket from downtown london to downtown paris on Eurostar.com You can look at flights but remember that you have to pay for transportation from city centre to airport and vice versa. If you book far enough in advance, the train is a good bet.

From Paris to Madrid I'd take the train too. you can take an overnight train from Paris to Barcelona, spend a day in Barcelona, and then take an overnight train to Madrid. then you can go farther south while only losing one day of travel time.

And by the way.....I'd recommend getting rid of the Faro and Lisbon part and spending that time in Barcelona and or Toledo or Segovia. Toloedo and Segovia are each a 3/4 day trip from Madrid and Barcelona is definitely worth the extra day or two. I guarantee that you won't regret it. If you want pics to prove it, let me know.

Eurostar has (or used to) youth ticket prices. London-Paris for half the price I believe. There are a limited number of youth tickets per train though, so it is possible they can sell out.
