I think if your waiting for every rich mutha to send ya 50$ ya might be waiting a while, as far as I know none of us are "rich" . It takes some people years and years to save the money to take what might be the only trip they will ever have. Some people go with out the luxuries of life to save the money to go away, others have families that have helped them out, and some work every waking moment just for the opertunity to travel abroad.

Some of the family here are from areas of the world where trying to save for a trip is almost unheard of, and they manage to pull it off.
All trips do not cost 5 or 6 grand, you could hitchhike south and keep going until you arrived at the tip of South America, and I bet you could do that for 1000$

I think your idea of turning yourself in might be a good one, that way you can get it done and over with and get on with your life. A fresh start to your goal might not be a bad idea at all...

Jail Time = Fresh Start = Better Job = More $$$ = Freedom...

and I think that should be the ultimate goal

Fuckin eh man, listen up here, if you wanna go on a trip the only one holding you back is yourself, you wanna go bad enough and really want it you will get the ball rollin yourself, I been working 2 jobs for the last 6 months, today is my first day off in 2 or 3 weeks and I work 16 hour days between the 2 jobs at least 3 times a week. And you got problems, fair enough that sucks but when you make yourself a goal to go see the world then you dont let anything stand in your way you giver all you got knowing that in 2 motnhs its all gonna be worth it

I think you gotta remember that a lot of us go on long journey and work abroad to help with the cash situation. If you really wanna get away then perhaps save up enough cash for the flight and work Visa... then travel and work. I'm a Canadian working in England right now and I'm going to Spain this weekend... but only cause I'm working two jobs to make the money to do so...

P.S. I've found that instead of birthday or X-mas or any other respective gift giving times I ask for money to be put into my Vacation fund rather than material gifts... even if it only adds up to a weekend somewhere it's worth it... also try getting airmiles or other flight rewards when you shop.

Ur biggest problem right now is not money though, its about that pesky warrent for your arrest...Deal with one problem at a time or you will become disheartened when your ultimate goal seems unreachacble.

Cool

some people save their money to get a car or go shopping.. for me everything that i earn i try and save to travel, and when you go traveling you dont need to stay at some penthouse suite.. hostels are cheap... trust me, if i can afford it, anyone can, it just matters on how badly you want it

I must say... you must work to clean up your life here (for myself it is debt), then bust ass to save up for that dream of yours. (Most people here to travel). It may seem like it takes forever sometimes, but it can be worth it. I got laid off from one job and then the other was so rediculous, always being told how terrible of an employee I was even though my job was to retrain stores on inventory control and teaching management how to do their jobs will getting paid shit, so I just had to quit. It set me back, but I am working again and looking for a second job. I may not get to take my big trip, but even a couple weeks here or there would be grand. Trust me, life gets shitty, but you have to hold your head up and stand tall and push through the piles of shit to get through to the other side. Anyone can do it if they put their heart into it.

besides the fact that I completely agree with your statement, sijuki, for some reason the cadence of the words put a song into my head: "you can do it, put your back into it..." and so on. haha, yeah, I'm a freak.
