Where to keep emergency credit card?

I will be taking a money belt and will put my debit card in there. However, many people have told me to keep an emergency credit card.

My question is where should I put this emergency credit card? Here are my ideas:

1) My money belt?
2) My wife's money belt?
3) My backpack?
4) Security locker at hostel?

My backpack has two hidden compartments so I usually keep mine there.

I've never been convinced enough to use the hostel safe (maybe I just pick the bad hostels that get robbed), but I guess the choiceis yours!

That way you can keep one round your waist and one on your leg. I'm considering getting one if I go to Iran this summer, there are no usable cash machines out there so I'll be carrying a months worth of cash on me, need to spread that around a bit.

I also stash mine in hidden parts of my pack. But I also chain my pack to the bed frame when i leave

I don't trust professionnal pickpockets, so I never leave anything valuable in my backpack, except for the cards. My wrong, I lost (or was stolen) my wallet once ! Fortunately, I keep $100 emergency cash money in my money belt, which were very helpful...

In my opinion, either your or your wife's money belt would be the best option.
