Chech Republic currency
I was wondering... does this year the Czech rep start using the Euro? or not? has anyone been to Prague this year?

I just read on the net that Euros will only be available from 2009 or 2010. The currency is the Czech Crown (koruna), about 20 crowns for US$ 1.
Read some infos here. |
Thanks E!!

I did find that a lot of place will accept Euros just in case you are stuck for some reason or another. In the touristy spots you will see prices in both currencies--a great indication to whether or not your are paying too much!
And because I am nice I liked Sir Toby's hostel in Prague and Krumlov House in Cesky Krumlov ;) Foo  |
Yeah, almost any place in Prague will accept Euros or Pounds Sterling, but you'll tend to get an awful exchange for them, like most places... Stick to crowns. They'll get you far, and everything's dirt cheap!

Are they not joining this year? I'm looking forward to when they do, it'll be another country I can go to with the money in my pocket. I love the Euro.

MeTurk, I did a quick search on the Net previous to answering Flo, and all three sites I found said it was due for either 2009 or 2010.

I don't know where I got 2007 from, I'd heard from other people that it was 2009 as well but I was hoping it was this year.
