i used audiogallaxy back in the day and it was amazing, but since they changed i can't find a site i like...

BitLord. It uses the BitTorrent network. Use piratebay.org to find the stuff you want.

I like limewire, personally... it's spyware/adware free, and I've had pretty good luck with it...

I definitely agree...there's no better way to get full albums than torrents. I use BitLord as well. Other suggested trackers are www.torrentspy.com and www.mininova.org
If I need a single song that I can't get from an album off BitTorrent, then I use WinMX.

mostly i've only used WinMX in the not so recent past. I ceased downloading about 2 months ago. Not because of morals though... Not really sure why.

Surprisingly, I (usually) prefer to pay for them. Not out of some moral high-road, you understand-- purely because it's instant, it's cheap, the quality is guaranteed to be good and there's no hidden spyware/viruses or beeps & other disruptive shit that record companies place in some illegal downloads. Just don't get me near iTunes after I've had a drink.
But, er, I've "heard" that Limewire is okay and that Poisoned, if you have a Mac, is even better.

I only use torrents to get my stuff. I use Bitcomet, always works well for me. Generally keep a high download rate, depending on seeders of course.
the sites I hit:
www.torrentspy.com
www.piratebay.org
www.mininova.org
www.torrentreactor.com
www.isohunt.com

BitTorrent.
I used to use SoulSeek back in the day and it isnt to shabby. I also have "hookups" with a lot of random people with huge libraries of music and download albums with the "GetFile" feature in AIM.

but it has helped expose the inner beatles fan in me...
