Meant to mention this in my other I-Tunes topic, but anyway......
Have you seen the new full size I-Pod?? You can watch movies, tv shows, music videos. Pretty sweet....for all you TV fanatics, episodes of Lost and Deperate Housewives are now avaiaable for downloading at $1.99 a pop. New I-Pod
Good for those long plane rides on crappy planes that don't have the on-demand movies yet.

Well, I was a little dissapointed when they introduced this. Why, you may ask?
Because I had all bets pointing to them introducing an iPod with 80 GB capacity. I'm glad they're rolling out this iPod Video, as it looks like a great product...however, I was hoping for an iPod that has 80GB capacity! I want to take my whole music collection with me, and even an 80GB iPod may not quite be enough storage capacity.
Anyways...I'll either be gunning for this one soon, or I'll get the standard iPod 20GB (for the cost savings) since I won't be able to fit my entire musical collection either way.

I sort of got sucked in to wishing that I didn't already have mine, already a year old, because of course, like any technology they just keep getting better and better.
But really, I got mine to listen to music only, and that is what I do. I just cannot imagine watching any sort of program/video on such a tiny screen. MAYBE if I were on a plane, but still, I am not into paying $1.99 to download stuff so prob. not. And I don't take my ipod on trips anyway.
Oh what the hell, I am just reaching for justifications for why my ipod is still cool!

I really don't see much use for a video iPod, but hey, if they're providing that functionality at no extra cost, more power to them.
Personally, I'm more excited about the new "FrontRow" media center iMac. Not for the product itself (who the hell wants a media center with an integrated screen?) but for the potential of putting all that stuff into a Mac Mini so I can have a decent set-top box... maybe then I'll consider buying a TV!

Has anyone heard any feedback about the Nano?
I know a couple people with them and have experienced nothing but problems. From cracked screens to freezing, blown headphones etc
Just wondering if these are common or just bad luck

The ipod video is quite sexy, but I just hate how you have to use itunes with everything. + The ipod only really plays one type of video file type which is .mov so it is really restrictive on what you can play on it.
I've got me this This. It fuckin rocks, It can do heaps of cool stuff (photos, movies, music, games)..... It's only got 20gig but I haven't got that much stuff to put on it yet.....
Anyways ipods are just such a fashion accessory nowadays, there are mp3 players around that are years ahead of the ipod, they just don't have the click wheel that everyone jizzes over..... I say stand out from the crowd! As if you want to have something that everyother ipod clone has anyways

Maybe all of you are right, I don't know. But the truth is, I freaking love my ipod. It is absolutely the coolest thing I have ever owned. No shit. I love the damn thing. It may be that there are better versions out there, but the video on the ipod is incredible. Yes the screen is kind of small, but so the hell what. The picture quality is better than my tv. The sound quality is better than my cd player. The thing is incredible. I don't work for ipod, but I could sell the hell out of it.

So no word on the problems with nanos? My buddy is thinking of getting one, so it would be nice to tell him if they blow.

Yes ma'am. I believe I have approximately 4,000 songs on my computer in Saskatoon, and currently have just under 13,000 songs on my laptop that I have with me (actually, on an external hard drive, but same difference). Hopefully, I'll visit my family for a few days in the beginning of December and will have the chance to finally combine the collection 17,000+ strong.
I still have to rip the rest of my album collection, so that may add another 5,000 songs or so.
Thanks to BitTorrent, I add approximately 100-200 songs per day to my collection when I'm downloading. Admittedly, some of them, I may listen to very infrequently...but I listen to the majority of my collection often!
