i am interested in this camera especially since you can shoot video and it is less than $300. anyone think this can be topped?

I like Canon cameras and I looked at this one, but ultimately I went with the PowerShot A series because they have a macro feature (which was very important to me.) Also they're smaller. They shoot video too.

Yeah, I'd go with the A series just for size alone. If you're going to buy a bigger Canon, then you should find a good deal on the G series (Circuit City has ridiculous deals on them on a regular basis) - with all that extra size, you get a load of nutty features like manual focus, extended exposure times, etc. etc. so you almost get SLR-like control. But for a compact, feature-packed point-and-shoot, I'd stick with the A's.
