Thumbs up

To use an American (Canon CB-2L) digital camera battery charger in countries all over Europe, do I basically just need to buy a 220V-110V voltage converter? Where's a good place to get one?

Hey Voyd,

The charger that came with your camera should be fine. On the charger, there should be a voltage range. All you would need is an adapter for the plug to be able to plug it into the outlets on the walls here. I have an American Canon minidv camcorder and the charger needed only the adapter.

You can go to a store like REI or Eddie Bauer or even an ARMY Surplus store to buy one of those universal converters that would let you plug anything into any socket around the world.

But, if it turns out that you only need that adapter, the cost here in Madrid was less than a dollar.

How´s Texas and the Dixie chicks?!

Cool

Thanks dawg! Yeah, it does have the requisite voltage and freq range. So, yeah all I need is a cheapo adapter plug, whew..

Weather here is getting perfect, too bad that won't last as the mercury keeps rising.. As far as the Dixie Chicks, I guess if the media here is going to tar-and-feather peace proponents, then a police state is not too far ahead. Goodbye Saddam, hello NW0! Americans just have a different perspective on war here, since no modern-day war has ever been waged on our own soil. As a result, war is seen to a degree as a remote video game (especially now that the free press has been banned from battlefield coverage) that can even boost the economy, while citizens are all kept safe tens of thousands of miles out of harm's way. But Europeans don't have those same luxuries.

And in the long term, there are far bigger issues at stake here than Saddam. Like energy policy, cultish religious mentalities and Israel. "Deleting" public enemy #1 Saddam may be a fine short-term action (and yes that will be doing the Iraqi people even a favor), but will these larger issues get addressed once that's done? I doubt it. Oh well, I guess this planet is overpopulated anyways...

V dawg!

Maybe you can give us a play-by-play update on the boards of your travels through Europe next month? Places you recommend, people you´ve met, hostels you stay at, etc...

What countries are you traveling to?
