Howdy

I'm waiting for my working holiday maker visa to go through then I'm heading to the UK on a tour and probably gonna stay the summer to work. I was leaning towards being in/around Edinburgh to find work...

I'm collecting leads of places to beg for a seasonal job I posted at some other travel forum so far and got the advice to go to Waverly bridge and ask for a bridge operator concerning selling tickets for a tour company with hourly wage and commission. I've heard that hotels hire travellers on the spot sometimes and also that construction is a possibility. True?

I just want someone who's from Scotland (or the UK for that matter) to tell me what to look for and where and what seasonal jobs to avoid. I'm only there for two months, I don't have bartending/restaurant experience, my work experience is mainly manual labor based (Marquee tent company for 4 years during my undergrad) but I'm willing to do anything... any input's appreciated

Oh ya... and does the employer upon your hiring deal with the work permit for you? I've got the visa figured out but not sure about the permit... never been to the UK

Cheers
