Default Mind made up moving to UK

Okay so I made up my mind 110 %moving to UK end of august early september but my dilema is where...
I decided no for London to expensive.
Was considering Manchester - everyone says its rough city for a girl
Then I thought about Birmingham.
Then I thought about York.
Then I thought about London again
Then I just about lost my mind lol

Does anyone have an suggestions that can help me out.

My plan was just to just show up and take it from there start my work search and apartment search.

Anyone who has done this spur of the moment move please help.
Sorry I'm rambling..but I'm sure somone out there can relate.

Thanks

I dig living by the seat of your pants but unless you have spent a lot of time in the UK I suggest you not move "spur of the moment". Try "moving there" for a few months and see if you still like it.

Of the cities you mentioned York is probably my favorite. Personally though I would move south possibly Dorset or somewhere like that.

I live in Birmingham, and I much prefer it to London. It's a pretty big city, but not as ridiculously big as London, and it's far less crowded. There's lots to do here, loads of venues for live music and the like.

I've never been to Manchester, but wouldn't fancy it myself. York is very nice though, a really pretty city.

I've only really spent time in Birmingham but I was mostly restricted to the mosley area and all I did there was go to Irish pubs.

It seems to be a city where you get good value for your money when it comes to food and general purchases.

Manchester is not rough for a girl.

Where did you hear that one from?

Manchester's not rough.. Julst like london there is maybe one suburb i wouldnt go.

Its got 3 Universities so theres a massive young feel about the place and the nightlife is wicked, suitable for all tastes

It is big enough you will find a new places to go all the time, and small enough to be friendly. And if its any consolation we have a Walkabout, its primerilly an Aussie bar but travellers meet in there all the time

Manchesters smack bang in the middle of the UK so its really close to the Lake District, an hour flight to Ireland, 2 hours train to London and 3 hours to Scotland. And a short drive to the beautiful beaches in Wales.

Ive been to all the other options, and lived in London which was such a drain on my funds! and I know I live there but I cannot Big Manc up enough.

My vote is still with Birmingham, I moved up here for uni in April, and already I love it. I feel really comfortable here, and I'm never stuck for things to do.
