These are good for working volunteer vacations pretty much. If you're looking for that, then I'd say go for it. If you're looking to volunteer overseas, you may want to consider the Peace Corps or volunteering with the UN.

Tanzania Program Fee:
* * * Cost for 2 weeks will be US $350.00
* * * Cost for 1 month will be US $600.00
* * * Cost for 6 weeks will be US $800.00
* * * Cost for 2 months will be US $1,000.00
* * * Cost for 10 weeks will be US $1,200.00
* * * Cost for 3 months will be US $1,400.00
The program fee covers administrative charge, airport pickup, transport to project, meals and accommodation during placement, and supervision.
To see the cost in your local currency, we recommend you look here.
The other costs you will need to meet are:
Your flights, visa, vaccinations, travel insurance, and airports taxes. You will also need a weekly budget of up to US$20 to cater for all your other expenses like bottled water, personal costs, beverages and entertainment.

Looks like a decent program. Another route you can go is to actually try and get a job with an organization or non-profit do such work. Its not easy, but there are jobs out there.

I was just wondering, is there a Canadian equivalent of Peace Corps?or any other well-known organizations who'd let Canadians join their volunteers?

As Jamie said, this is a good way to have a working vacation...but keep in mind if you want to join Peace Corps or something along those lines, volunteer work vacations count as real tangible volunteer experience, which greatly improves your chances of being accepted by NGOs and agencies like the UN Volunteers, etc.
I think you have to be a US citizen to join Peace Corps...so you're probably better off joining the UN Volunteer Program later on if you want to follow that path, as I'm not sure if there is a Peace Corps equivalent in Canada. There might be though, so look into it!
I'm thinking of doing something like this too next year...let me know if this agency is good!
