Turn my parents into Philanthropists
Hi,
my parents are starting to get the travel bug, and would like to see more of the world (health permitting) and they have been interested in volunteering abroad for portions of time. They are getting up there... 54 and 61 years old I think, but have accumulated a lifetime of work skills. The long Saskatchewan (Canada) winters are starting to get to them, and I have been pushing them to volunteer abroad. I know that there are various places where you can get room and board in exchange for labour, but what about flights and whatnot?
Ideally, I could see them in Central/South America - but they may be open to any locales around the world. Can anyone help me out with links or info with regards to this?
Thanks!

Is that the home of the Rough Riders?
Actually i've been reading a lot about how groups like the Peace Corps are going after retiree-ish (i added the "ish" because I didnt want to call your parents old) to work their programs. I know that might be a little more hardcore than they're looking for but maybe you could look into what they offer.
To be honest I've never really heard about flights being offered but you never know, I'm probably wrong. I hope they find what they're looking for.
