I heard that supposedly for Australians 2 get jobs in England is quite easy. Is that true or bs?

It's true... good to be part of the Commonwealth - you bastards. You can get a working holiday visa and you're all set!

Hey LFB can you get abode or a UK passport because you have relatives in the UK? If so that will make things sweet. If not I guess along with every other aussie you'll get a two year working visa. In essence it's for casual work here and there to help fund your travels. They will cap the amount of hours that you can work, providing it's not an 'under the table job' The only way to have a professional job is if an employer decides to 'sponsor' you. That's the extent of my knowledge but you should check it out from a more concrete source.

www.thegumtree.com
There are plenty more sites like this that you will find. Even start browsing now, and start sending a few emails. I spent a few days just emailing my resume to heaps of different adds. I got like 10 interviews in just a short space of time. Never went to any but, but just wanted to see how easy it would be if i really really needed work.
A lot of people recccomend signing up with agencies too, more than one even. And then they do all the hard work for you.
There was always bar work, hostel work and stuff like that. Cant remember what type of work you said you were looking for.
Meeting up with other aussies living/working over there is a good start, as they can put you in the loop and give you some contacts to get started...
Good luck mate

ps... go see your travel agent if you want to set up a job/accomodation before you go. Not what i wanted to do cuz i wanted to be flexible when i got over there, but was too flexible and never ended up working at all. Looking back if i had have had it all sorted b4 i went over things would have been different.

hmmmm....well looks like casual work it is. I don't have any rels in the UK so I'll just be getting a work visa. I heard that u can't get 2 year work visas anymore, they only let u get 1 year ones now, is this true?? Might start looking now and go see a travel agent to find out some more about this stuff.
thanks for the help guys.

As long as there are pubs in London there will be jobs for Aussie backpackers! (there are of course plenty of other jobs!)
