Depends on what country you're from. If you're not from the EU, you'll need a work permit:

If you want to work in France legally I would say yes, work on getting a visa. However, I have been working here since May with no visa. Not the most legal, but it is an american company in a small town so we can get by.
If your from the states you have to be in the states to get a visa, you can do some final paperwork in France. Good luck though!

Out of curiosity, Indie, do you have to leave the EU every few months to get a new passport stamp? Or do you just make sure it's not an issue by not venturing anywhere?

Im currently studying abroad in France and its a very difficult country to get visas for. My student visa took e forever to complete. The paperwork is CRAZY. By the way I was dealing with the consulate in western Canada.

Good luck
