Ok, with only a few weeks before i arrive back on the sunny shores of the uk, ive begin searching for work in the uk, and i noticed that clinical trials of all descriptions pop up all over the place. I guessing you have to be careful, but the money seems good, and it sounds fairly easy, even as a second job.. i found some info here.

I guess just more curious than anything to work out what goes on.

Thanks in advance...
Leeroy.

I don't know about the UK, but several of my employees offer themselves up as scientific guinea pigs here in Seattle. It's actually kinda funny, one guy was in like 4 at one time-- one for testing people that smoke too much weed, one for people that don't get enough sleep, one for investigative HIV medicine (he is pos) and I don't remember what the 4th one was, but it was interesting seeing him juggle all his appointments.

I wouldn't recommend doing that many at once though, if you could help it!!!

i got offered $300 the last time i went in for my yearly to be a part of a new drug study for this med. that makes you immune to herpes. it kind of scared me though, but assuming everything is kosher, what a good idea. i guess once you recieve the innoculation (right word?) you can never contract the disease... here's the weird catch though - as of now: they only offer it to women.

anyway, i took $25 that day because i was having my hiv test anyway and if i just gave a little extra blood i could have the cash - i never called back for further testing/treatment though... experimental drugs weird me out.

How could the dude do both the excesive weed smoking test and the lack of sleep one at the same time....Next thing you will tell me he was taking a test to find out the results of lack of pie and corn chips.

^ swear to god man! he was *always* involved in some test like that or another. Total freak. UW does a lot of interesting/bizarre physical, emotional and psychological testing for which they give nominal compensation.

hey leeroy! jason and i met this ozzie who has been traveling for a year or more, and he ended up doing one of these studies in london. his was for cholesterol medicine i think. anyway, he had to stay in the hospital for a week, he couldn“t leave. but he says it wasn“t bad and he played video games the whole time. now, if you are traveling for a really long time, giving up a week isn“t a big deal. guess how much he made..........1500 pounds. yes, you heard me right. sign me up dude. next time i am in london i am investigating. that could finance another 2 months or more of travel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Guys, this sounds pretty sweet... 1500pounds is handsome sum indeed.

Ill just have to do the research now i guess. The people i linked to in the original test seem to do all sorts of research all over the uk, and on their site you are able to search for trials in whatever part of the uk you think you might like to go. They even organise mystery shoppers and that too, for those you may not want to go for the medical side of things.

Um, wouldn't that skew the results for each with possible drug interactions?

Geez. Well, I would never take meds for cash cuz I don't take meds, period. All bad for your system.

^ yeah, that was my point... In that particular guy's case I don't think he was letting the study people know what else he was doing.

A few years back, I heard the a University in Illinois was paying $20,000 for one testicle! I never investigated it, because I don't like to give or loan those things away.

Woah, that BioTrax site is great. Its looking like I will be going to England in January to work, and this stuff will help a lot. Some of the psychology expiriements sound kinda fun.

its quite safe i did a trial for a new fay-fever drug.it was 2nights in and then returning for 2hours (no more than 2hours these things were run like the army after 2hours they were buckin you out the door) a day for next 6 days and then returning for 2hours the next 3 sundays. total time it took up was 28-30hours all i had to do was take 2pills at 10am each day, keep a diary of my peak flow and write down if i felt any side-effects and made £1500. there were quite a few aussies and NZ folk doin it with me. did it through MDS harris in belfast you can do 1 nite stays or 1's that last just a few hours and its easy easy money, my wee brother got a letter though a while ago for some stop-smoking chewing gum think it was around £500-£700 they were offering for a 5-7hour stay
