This August I will be traveling and working my way across Europe until March. I was wondering, what are the best cities in both eastern and western europe to find "under the table" jobs? And also, what would be my best bet for a job over the christmas season? Thanks alot!!

Welcome!

I think it depends on what kind of jobs you're looking for. Example: probably not very many restaurant / bar jobs in rural areas, and probably not much physical labor / farming type jobs in cities. What kind of work are you thinking you want to do? I'm sure you could find some restaurant or other that is in need of a dishwasher-- for starters.

I completely understand. I am traveling those same dates aug-feb and want to plan my trip around where i can work. I would really appreciate ideas on where I can work in exchange for food and lodging. I also wanted to know if there were any volunteer programs like the Peace Corps, but minus the long term commitment. I appreciate any advice.
