Backpack or Volunteer - York Sierra Leone
Volunteers and backpackers are welcome on this new and exciting project.

Volunteers/backpackers will be based in the charming Creole fishing village of York, on the Freetown peninsular. York Village is a tranquil haven, a true paradise. The people are warm and welcoming and the nature incredible- the ocean teaming with a wealth of marine life and behind the magnificent Upper Guinea Lowland Forest of the Freetown peninsular, a huge tract of virgin forest that once covered the whole of West Africa. This will be the AWF base whilst the Earth Centre is being built in nearby Newton and will remain an important operating base subsequently for marine work and serious R&R at weekends for volunteers from all over the country.
