Default Big questions and a reintroduction!

'Ello ello. My name is David - I posted a year or two back and got some great advice from you folks! Anyhow, I made it out to Scotland and England etc and had a ball. I'll show ya some pics if ya need.

I just got back from a backpacking trip of the Grand Canyon which was fabulous! You can see pictures of that at www.myspace.com/daveynew

Anyhow - here's the deal. I'm contemplating quitting my job as a loan officer which has allowed me to pay off the majority of my debt. I'm planning on going back to school online through my university here, University of North Texas. But that is not the issue.

I want to go work in the UK or Australia - an English speaking country - while I'm in school. But, I don't know where to start or what the regulations are!

My main concern is obviously getting the work permits and whatnot. I just plan on waiting tables and getting a room mate while I finish up school.

I figure I'll be poor as shit here going back to school, so I might as well be poor as shit somewhere else that is foreign and exciting! If anyone has any info regarding work permits, as in how to, ease of getting one etc.. . .I'd really appreciate it. Again it is great to be back on the boards and I'll talk to ya soon!

David

check out www.bunac.org they have all the info you need about obtaining a work visa in the uk, roi, australia, new zealand and also have volunteer posisitions available in south africa, peru and cambodia.

as long as you're in school full time or have graduated in the past 6 months, they should be able to hook you up.

Hey, that's cool you want to work abroad, sorry I can't actually help with the logistics of it all!

Just wanted to let you all know, especially you David, I've moved this thread into "study/work abroad". Would have PM'd you to let you know, but you don't seem to allow private messages for some reason!!
