Hey!!!
I'm new, my name's Tiffany =) I'm majoring in Spanish and would love to spend a couple of months in a Spanish speaking country this summer, but the university study abroad programs are pretty darn expensive so i'm seeking alternatives.

anyway, my parents are terrified of me going to south america (my mom insists that if i do they'll have to take out a kidnapping insurance policy, ha ha ha) so Spain looks like my best option.

so to get to the point... can anyone tell me how reliable those programs are which entail an english speaker living with a spanish family for free in exchange for teaching them english for 15 hours a week? program fees are around $700 - $1000 for 1-2 months i think... what do u think? have u done it or know anyone who has? how can i tell if it's for real or is just evil money making plot?

this is the link for the main website i've been looking at, sorry if it doesn't work:

i would really, REALLY appreciate any help on this one, thanks!!!
