I've searched the forums and I can't find much on Paraguay- of course all my travel guides make Paraguay sound like an adventure, but has anyone here had any real experience there?

I watched a vid. on YouTube (I know this shouldn't sway my views but it does :P ) and the dude basically said he hated it there and regretted going...the only good thing to come out of it was the amazing chipa.

I know there's extreme poverty but also extreme wealth- and there's some really great untouched national parks, and lots of birds. Seems like either not many travelers have spent time in Paraguay, or they just don't want to talk about it.

But anyone have any stories straight from Paraguay?

I've only ever been to Ciudad del Este for about an hour and wouldn't reccomend it unless you enjoy people selling shit to you left right and centre! But other than that part I'm sure its really nice, it was actually really pretty heading into Ciudad other than the fact there were people everywhere!

(We did a day trip from Puerto Igauzu in Argentina to Foz Du Iguazu in Brazil and Ciudad in Paraguay, so I can't really say much for the country as a whole).

I would def say to go there and check it out anyway!
