Crazy plan I have is too stay someplace for 1-3 months for UK winter and work out, just chill

I came up with BA as best idea...

Any tips/advice

eg, apartment rental- Was thinking recoleta, is this safe, decent area..?

Also, where can I buy whey protein? And how much is it?

And is it easy to chat up Argentinian girls if a good looking foreign guy but little Spanish lol

Something I've always wanted to do. I don't think you'll have aaany problem chattin up the ladies, from my experience they love the foreign guys. Not sure about apt pricings, but try craigslist! I always get on there to get a good idea, and theres usually pics too.

My buddy is moving to BA in February. He's getting an apartment with his girlfriend. They said they'd be able to afford something really nice (doorman, pool, internet, TV, electricity, big rooms) for US$700/month. They plan on working down there and compared to what they pay in Philadelphia thats a real bargain.

First they're going to stay at a hostel for about a week or so until they find out what neighborhood they want to move into.

I think they've just been using the internet to read up on it. I'll pass along any new info I find.

Well my friend just picked up an apartment in Palermo area for 700 USD (literally 30 minutes ago)... Apparently apartments normally go for $1200+ there. He's got a floor to himself on the top of a 6 storey building.

Apparently the area is super nice.

First of all. You son of a bitch.

Buenos Aires is fucking dope. I hope to be able to live down there when I arrive around July or August. To be honest though, from what i've heard, work is fairly hard to get down there.

BUT

Palermo or Recoleta is DEFINITELY where you want to be. I think Palermo will probably go easier on your wallet. When I was there last october everything was stupid cheap, however it's apparently doubled since then, making it i just cheap i guess haha.

Anyway, those are the areas you should stick to. Oh yeah, and the women are fucking incredible.

I was browsing craigslist a few months ago and damn, you can really pay a lot of an apartment in Palermo. but, I don't know if it's really necessary, everything was in English and I think they're targeting expats whose companies will reimburse whatever they end up paying. My guess is that if you could just show up and search like a local you'd get a much better deal.

But I need to clarify this with Florencia

Thanks for replies

I could as an option fly out and stay in a hostel and then book something up long term if that is a better idea

However as said my Spanish is basic

Also, is this a crazy idea??

Right now I have graduated and am unemployed but have a few thousand saved up

I'm not sure what to do with myself and due to recession not looking for a career etc right now...

I know its cheap standard of living there right?

But if I going alone with little Spanish and don't know anyone?

I was thinking of Thailand as I've been there before and can bum about very cheaply and have a good time but I done it before so?

Cheers
