Default Ushuaïa - The end of the world... anyone been??

Ok, so (cross your fingers) I might be going to Ushuaïa in Tierra del Fuego for my summer vacation!!

Right now it's just basic research as I dont wanna go to the end of the world by myself, and a frind of mine is trying to take the days off of work as well. So I'm going to need any advise from you guys!! Has anyone been?? I'm mostly interested on advise on places to see, activities or tours to take down there. Any ideas??

Your input is highly appreciated!

Flo...I'd go to the end of the world for you...

Seriously, sounds incredible. I've wanted to go to Patagonia for ages, so who could resist a place called the End of the World? Whe, are you going, and what's the weather going to be like down there?

Tell us more! Tell us more!

omg sounds amazing! I do know someone who has been out that way and I will talk to her (or at least try to... she's in vienna for a year and hard to catch). I will see what I can find out though!!

I always wanted to go there but I have heard it has gotten so touristy...

I think touristy would be worth it just to go to a place called the end of the world.

Hehe, it's not literally called "the end of the world", but that's rather their slogan "the end of the world, the beggining of everything" because it's the southern most city in the world. It's as south as you can get.

I'm still trying to convince my friends of going there.. it's like they'd rather go to the same beach we've gone for the past 20 summers... and even though I'd like to go there on the weekends, I need a bit of an adventure....

So we'll see how it turns out. I hope it works, cause it's reaaaally expensive.. but hey! you only live once...

A friend gave me her South America on a Shoestring guide! And I'm getting more and more excited as I read it!! And it's a great distraction to plan this, cause I hardly have any time for myself anymore... (stupid job!).

So, I'm off to bed and read up on Tierra del Fuego (the land of Fire...as the Europenas named it after seeing from their ships the biiig bonfires the indians would lit up on land).

PS: Does anyone else think it's strange that I'm reading up on my own country in English??
