Hi folks, back from Octoberfest, chilled for a week in A´dam, Now I am headed south Marakesh ways.
This is current info I collected in person.
Munich...Busking allowed, lots of tourists. Pricy hostels. Money was not great.
Amsterdam...Busking allowed, few tourists, very few buskers, poor money this season.
Barcelona... Still illegal to busk, a few locals get away with it.
Granada.... Not a busker in sight. More on this city later
Tot zo!

Busking there is kinda pointless. The locals often didnt have tv or internet, so they usually grew up playing an instrument and they like to jam with new folks well enough. But they are not likely to give you significant cash. Belgrade buskers seemed to much better, and their scene was more rock n roll friendly.

Pro Busker Report, continued
Granada...I combed the old city all afternoon and evening. Found a few buskers and duos working the area around Plaza de Bib Rambla and Plaza de las Pasiegas, seemed to be doing ok. Noone worked the terraces, all sat and played with hat out. No one was clear as to local regulations. But they only played from 3pm till dark, shortly after 8. Lots of tourists. Prices have continued to rise here and some things are more expensive than Barcelona! 3.40 for a Whopper, 3.10 in Barca.Thats one of my benchmarks to judge a places economy, the Whopper test. Hostels started at 16 a night.
Coming next....Checking in with Beneficio Rainbow and El Moreon MadMax alternative communities (dont forget Zigironas) in Andalucia on my way to Motril and the Med Coast.
