we came across statravelc.om while searching on this rtw forum yesteday as we are intrested in something likethis for our next trip.
statravel was a very impresive site, is there any others like that or are they not worth it and is statravel the best option?
we dont know exactly where we want to go yet, but we want to hit a fair few countries i think.
cheers

ryan air buddy, ryan air
A god send in Europe, plus, down with STA. They suck and are more expensive, just look on the actual airline sites for better deals.
Good luck!

coz we would be starting in london but want to go outside europe which is ryan airs limits aint it

STATravel was the best option I found after months of search for my rtw trip. They found me a one-year return-flight from Montreal to Sydney, with stop-overs in Malaysia and Frankfurt, which is about 2000 Euros.
But the best is to call them, they'll find better prices than on-line. On-line, mine was about 4000$CAN but the employee I contacted found me a great deal after two weeks of search, with Malaysian Airline : 2500$CAN ! We had to simplify my first itinerary, but it still was the best deal. In Asia, I bought separate tickets (Malaysia-Laos, Vietnam-Thailand, and Thailand-Nepal).

I am on a RTW ticket now.
Try www.airtreks.com
You can play with itens and different routes to get the prices that you want.
Foo
PS: I bought my RTW ticket from Airtreks.
Oh and my route is this:
London - Malta (free stop) - Cairo - Dubai (free stop) - Bangkok - Sydney - Auckland (free stop) - Fiji (free stop) - LAX
All the ones noted with free stop were not picked when I did my original iten. They added them in automatically because prices are the same. So the best way to go about it is to pick places you want to go for sure and see what else gets tossed in. If you submit the iten to them they will start looking and get you possibly more stops for free if possible. They will call you as well on the phone.

wow, cheers for the help, had just noticed airtreks on another post on here and it looked a pretty cool site. we have a rough idea of a fe places we want to go but dont know time of year or in which ordr so we where just playing about with the route planner thing and this is what we came up with
london - rome - tunisia - cairo - johnesberg (spelling sorry?) - hong kong - syndney - wellington - lax -(overland_ new york - london or something to that effect came to 400 dollars but we didnt check anyfurther to see what free stops there was.
also withstatravel there is abranch near where we live in uk in cambridge so maybe in our benifit to go into the rbanch once we know what we are on about and see what they come up with ratehr than go online.
will deffo keep airtreks in our mind though seems to be great.
any others anyone uses?
it appars to be very much cheaper to buy one of these sorts of tickets than individually, and if we need to go anywhere else which the airline doesnt go to just buy that seperately right?
Also how are the tickets on the date changeing? say if you boo it but while in midde of trip you wish to change a few dates or something? or are they fixed?

Well I am on a multitude of airlines. Emirates, for example, allows me to change for free. Others charge a fee. Some charge a fee AND difference in fare, if any.
Airtreks gives you a price range. I am pretty sure the high end is if you were in all the places listed during high season. The opposite is true for the low price. I created and endless summer with my tickets so my final bill was the high side.
A couple things to do to save money: Start the RTW ticket in Rome. Use Ryanair until it starts. Fly from Sydney to Auckland instead of Wellington. Possibly book a seperate cheap flight with Air NZ to get to Wellington if Auckland doesn't interest you.
LAX to NYC can be cheap if done far enough in advance (say $120 USD plus taxes) and NYC to London can also be really cheap if you catch some of the incredible deals that pop up. Beergal on here got a return from London to NYC for 200 quid (roughly). I would book those 2 flights seperate as well. Check out Aer Lingus too because they do NYC to Dublin and you can connect your flight back to London via Ryanair on the back end if need be.
Hope this helps!

Another student website is studentuniverse.com. The fair are a bit hit or miss but I have found some really good ones there. I would recommend it if you are a student, you have to prove your student status.
