Default Around the world?

Who has been around the world? How many countries have you been to?

Is there anyone that has been to EVERY country?

Hey there, I moved this thread into the "Round the world + long term travel" forum!!

I had a "round the world" ticket, but only in the sense that it flew me right round the world, I only had 8 or 9 stops on the ticket, so I don't really consider it a true round the world trip.

There is a metric ass-ton of information here, too - Be sure to use the search function, the odds are you'll find that someone else has asked a similar question before!

Welcome to Travelpunk! You'll find it's a great group of people here, and we're always willing to help...

Welcome to the Boards, westcoast!

I've been to more than sixty countries, but many of my trips have been short ones. I've never had a chance to do a true, round the world trip. The longest I've been gone is 6 months after high school when I backpacked through Europe, ending up on a kibbutz in Israel. Of course, that was more than two decades ago (I'm one of Tpunk's oldsters -- just ask Joey!).

So, I highly recommend you doing your round the world trip now, while you're young. Once you get hooked into a job, a house, or whatever, it gets harder and harder to break free of the things that would keep you attached to one area.

Hopefully, within a couple years when I retire from the airline and begin work as a middle school teacher, I'll have a couple months each summer to indulge myself on long trips...

Good luck, and feel free to ask any questions here!

I certainly don't feel young! lol I'm 27 but I do feel that I better do it now because I'm coming close to that age where it will become a bit harder.

I definately want to do an around the world, every country is most likely unrealistic, and I'm more about seeing the world than I am about putting myself into dangerous situations so I'd avoid the really unsafe ones, but I'd like to hit like 75% of each continent, I think that would be really amazing...this will probably be the only time I really do something like this, after this hopefully I will have a career which means a few weeks holiday a year only so I really want to make it count!
