Hi!! im planning a backpack trip alone in May. I dont have much of a plan yet, except i want to see france, spai, italy, and greece, London. Im not too sure if i should start in greece nad work my way up to London or the other way around. (im starting my trip in amsterdam) I want to stay away from the tourists, but want to have lots of fun. I want to see some festivals. Also, Im not too sure what eurail pass is best for me. May france and spain pass? I want to keep my schedual open, but dont want to miss anything important! please help! thanks a lot!

I loved Spain and I think most people here who have been there before would agree - don't pass it! If you're starting in A-Dam, you may want to go up and do London first, and then work your way down. You could go from London to France to Spain, ferry over to Italy, ferry over to Greece. You can get discounts on the ferry via a Railpass (view my signature to help you decide if it's worth it). There are festivals ALL the time all over, so don't worry about that! It would be hard to miss them. :) If you want to stay away from tourists, you're going to want to avoid major cities (A-Dam, London :blink: ) because you'll be venturing there around the start of the peak tourist season. Aside from these cities, to avoid tourists, try hitting some cities/towns maybe an hour or so away from hot spots. Things are usually less busy and cheaper, but you still get cool stuff to see and do.

If you are looking at coming to festivals here my advice is book early as most of the major festivals sell out with in a few hours of being released. You could aslo fly direct from London to Athens and do a reverse trip, if you just want to see cities you could just fly with some of the cheap airlines that we have here in europe
