Default 3 weeks in Europe - 1st Draft

I'm trying to plan a trip for about 3 weeks this summer. My boyfriend is going to have to work 3 days a week, with offices in Amsterdam, Paris, and London. He obviously needs to space out when he's working, so I think we may need to zigzag a bit.

My initial idea is as follows:
London - 4 days
Brussels - 3 days
Paris - 4 days
Luxembourg (maybe) - 2 days
Brugge - 3 days
Amsterdam - 4 days
Cologne - 2 days

What do you guys think of this as a plan? I've never been to Europe before and am being given only a month (during finals) to plan it all. Also, if anyone could give a general estimate of cost per day (with staying in hostels and all that), that would be appreciated.

Welcome to Tpunk!

I haven't been to most of the places you've listed, but it looks like you're doing a good job of not trying to squeeze in too many places to visit. It looks like you've allotted enough time to get to see each city on your list. It also looks like the travel times between all the cities are not too long, so I think this itinerary looks pretty solid. Maybe someone who has traveled these countries before can offer more advice.

It also might make sense to go to Brugge from London and then Brussels, but not sure if that's possible or if it works with your plan. Good luck!

Looks great, but I would shave a day off of Brugge.... I've been there, and had the most amazing time, but unless you just want too, 3 days is too long.... And I'm curious as to why you aren't going to Brugge from London.... Its only a 45 min train ride from Brussels......

I spent 2 days in Cologne and while it's a beautiful city, I was BORED on day two. All the sights (the Dom, the Rhine, etc) are right when you walk out of the hbf so it's kind of like ehhh after the first day. You might want to day trip it to Dusseldorf which is just a half hour train ride up the Rhine. Also, I highly recommend the Black Sheep Hostel for Cologne. Very cool place.

Also while you're in Cologne, definately do a Bier Bus, you will see them rolling around. TOTALLY awesome.
