Itinerary-Take 2
So i'm leaving in 5 days, thought I would do an update. This is the general path i'll be taking. I think i've decided to nix Egypt. i do want to go, but I don't think its the right time. Just too much in such a short period of time. It will be spur of the moment if I do decide.
Two weeks in Austria with the family. Until about the 28th of August
London-4 days ( side trip to Vimy Ridge first, it's a Canadian thing)
Paris-4 days ( versailles and Normandy side trips
Madrid- 3 days
Benidorm- 2 days( no sightseeing here, pure relaxation)
Barcelona-3 days
Nice- 1 day
Monaco- 1 day
Munich- 2 days( Oktoberfest!)
Florence- 2-3 days
Rome-3-4 days
Sorrento and Amalfi Coast 2-3 days
Athens- 3-4 days
Dubrovnik- 2 days
Split-2 days
Hvar- 2 days
Prague- 3 days
Krakow-2 days(Auschwitz)
Berlin-4 days
Amsterdam- 2 days
London-1 day(flyout)
Any hints about what to see?

Sounds like you're gonna have an awesome time!
Your itinerary looks a little rushed but still doable. If you feel tired while you're on the road do cut some days. If I was doing your itinerary I'd be sooo tired. Krakow is more than Auschwitz, its worth more than 2 days. I love Krakow.
PS Athens to Dubrovnik is gonna be one long ass train ride.

Athens to Dubrovnik needs to be done on bus or boat. There is no train station in Dubrovnik. Croatian trains stop at Split if I recall correctly.
I also love Krakow! The only thing that city is missing is a decent Mexican place

True, there is no train service to Dubrovnik. I also don't think there are direct ferries, you'd have to go to Bari, Italy first. But there is an airport in Dub so maybe you can grab a cheap flight or something. A bus will take you directly to the Old Town.

it all looks good to me, it's a long time to travel that way (a few days in each place) but I'm sure you can handle it! If it was me I'd spend a week in Berlin, but everyone has personal preferences. The good thing about a trip like this is you get to see lots of places and figure out which cities you love and want to go back to!

That's a pretty full on itinerary you've got there. The only advice I would give you is to stay flexible. If you find you're getting sick of the whirlwind travelling, don't be afraid to slow the pace and miss a few places. That being said, I'm sure you'll have an absolute blast!!

For the ones who went to Dubrovnik, where did you come from and how much did it cost? If it was a bus, how crowded was it? I'm thinking about a Balkans thing in January. I'm trying to eliminate price surprises.

Did you not find the mexican stuff at bagelmama adequate (if you went)? Its more Tex-Mex-y but its run by an American guy. Everytime I think about that place I get hungry.

Thanks everyone, I just received my eurail pass in the mail and you are all correct, there is not direct route from Athens to Dubrovnik but that won't stop me, i'll find a way! Two days until departure, i'm feeling 2 parts anxious and 1 part nervous but it will all go away soon. I guess i'm just scrambling to make sure everything is in order by Thursday morning, trying not to forget things excetra... I have a 16gb card for my camera that holds 3700 pics, but i'm afraid that won't be enough, lol.

I'm so envious!! Your gunna have an awesome time!! Don't forget to update us when you get back
Btw 16gb card only holding 3700pics? I have a 2gb card which holds around 2200 on the highest quality setting.... surely your one can hold more than that? Although I didn't know you could get 16gb cards - maybe my camera is just crappo ?
