Default rough itinerary

hey guys and girls, hope you're well!

what do you think of this?

London (Home) - Cairns then overland with OzExperience to Melbourne - Christchurch then overland to Auckland - Fiji - Bangkok - Athens/Rome (whichever one will then allow me to fly to) - Amsterdam - London (Home)

hoping to do it for 6-8 months. we'll see. maybe I need more time?
give me some recommendations and time scales

thanks!

Sounds great! Fuck Athens though.... If you do end up landing there, check your stuff, see the akropolis for a few hours, then hit the islands or coast. Athens is one big shit hole (sorry to anyone that likes it). And of course if you need any info on Holland, I got what you need. Keep us posted as your trip and itenarary progresses!!!

Looks great !

Are you planning on spending a month in each city, or all these basepoints from where you intend to travel inland ? If the lattest, you could think of doing a loop in SEA, such as Thailand-Laos-Cambodia for about 8 weeks (average daily budget of $15-$20 for tight budgets). Same thing once in Greece, explore the islands and/or go to Turkey and Bulgaria; and in The Nederlands also.

Just my two cents.

Sounds great. I'd just say, Oz Experience is all well and good, but it's expensive for what you get. I did Melbourne to Cairns using Greyhound, and it was way cheaper. Obviously you don't get the atmosphere and the social aspect like you do with Oz Experience, but it all depends on what you want really.

Having said that, I did use the Magic Bus in New Zealand to get from Auckland to Christchurch, and it was good fun!!

SEA loop sounds like a good idea, $20 you say? thats better than i had hoped for. i know most of my money will go in AU/NZ so im looking to it cheaply when it comes to SEA.

my budget isnt amazing.. about $6k but i am more than willing to do some work in AU/NZ so im not sure.. anyone ever done that?
