Default Wilmington, Philly, and NYC

Yeah seems like a lot for 5 days, but heres the plan.

May 5 - 7: Philly, with my buddy Nathan. So that will pretty much be planned out and the like. However he may have friends in town so I may need a place to stay. Any Philly-ites out there? Or have any Hostel recommendations?

May 7 - 9(or 10): NYC. I really want to go to a Yankees game before they close down Yankee Stadium. So that is basically what this trip is all about. Go to either a game the 7th or 8th, see the city inbetween that.

May 9 or 10: Wilmington. Is there anything to do there? The only reason I'm going there is because of the Skybus airline hub is there.

So any suggestions, hostels in all of the places I am going? Really this is all just to hang out with my buddy and go to a Yankees game, I'm not trying to overexert myself, trying to fit a city like NY in 2 days. It's just like trying to spend 2 days in London and thinking you've seen it all.

Cheers

I live about 45 minutes west of Philly. I travel a lot for business during the week so I dont know if I'll be around to meetup for anything but I thought I could give you some advice.

Can I ask why you're going from Philly north to NYC, then south past Philly to Wilmington? Maybe you could switch it up, hit NYC first, then Philly, then Wilmington.

Then again, there is really nothing in Wilmington to see. You can get there from Philly (when it isn't rush hour) in an easy half hour down 95. You might just wanna return to Philly. Trains run from the Iladelph to Wilmington pretty often.

I dont know of any hostels in Philly or Wilm. Sorry. There are hotels near the airport where you can get a room for around $50.

Also, the Yankees are home on the 7th and 8th. The latter is a BPS (Business Persons Special) so it starts at 1:05. Sometimes those games sellout even faster than others so you might wanna buy tickets as soon as your plans are set.

Let me know if I can help you out any other way...

I fly into Wilmington. Going to meet up with my friend in Philly, and then I think we are both going to NYC now. Then I'd head back to Wilmington for the flight back home.

If I'm in NYC while you're here, let's grab a beer.

damn I didn't even know Wilmington had an airport! Unless your flight out the next day is super early I'd stay in Philly if possible as opposed to Delaware.

Wilmington does have an airport, although technically it's in New Castle. We never had flights from commerical airlines going out of there until recently. Delta tried a stint there but closed a while back (I don't know why I wasn't in-state) and Skybus started there recently. Woo, exciting time for my little state of Delaware.

I'd be happy to tour you around but I'm heading to Missouri on 4/21 so I won't be around. There's not much to see in Delaware, just head up to Philly. I don't know of any hostels though off the top of my head in Philly though.

Andrew, not sure if you've heard but Skybus is history. Hope you can get a refund for your ticket!

Yeah, my buddy called me late Friday night... I guess I'm just gonna pay twice as much and fly into Philly via Indy. Heres to using my tax refund for the trip! Cheers.
