Default First Draft of my Itinerary (6 months of traveling)

Finding out that my next work contract is only going to last 8 weeks, and that this lines up perfectly with the end of the San Fermin Festival, I started to make a few travel plans. Since I started working things out my itinerary has expanded slightly . . . I have only got a few places I have to be and was hoping for comments/recommendations regarding what I have worked out so far.

I've got InterRail passes (for the start of the trip) for Spain (8 days in a month) and Portugal (6 days in a month), as well as a Eurail Select Pass for the second portion (15 days in 2 months) for Spain, France, Germany, Switzerland and Austria.

Flights from Dublin-Madrid, Friedrichstafen-Glasgow and Gasgow-Vancouver(return) are booked. Aside from that my plans are fairly open. I'd love to check out local festivals in any of the near-by areas that I am in and am just starting to work those dates out.

- The number of days stopped at each palce don't add up to a full months so I can use the extra time that is unaccounted for to make up my travel time (hopefully I'm not underestimating this).

July
12 - Fly Dublin to Madrid; Trian to Pamplona (2)
- San Sebastian (2)
- Bilbao (day trip)
- Madrid (4)
- Toledo (day trip)
- Segovia (day trip)
- Salamanca (via Aliva) (2)
- Porto (2)
- Lisbon (3)
- ?Evora/Lagos? (?)

Aug
- Sevilla (3)
- Cordobra (1)
- Marrakesh (by night train via Algeciras) (2)
- Casablanca (day stop)
- Rabat (1)
- Fes (3)
- Malaga (1)
- Granada (1)
- Barcelona (4)
- Paris (5)
- Caen/D-day Beaches (2)
Are there any other places in France that would be really worth checking out? (anything really unique that I wouldn't see/experience anywhere else?)
28 - Valencia (La Tomatina) - is it worth the travel or should I just check out Valencia on my way to Barcelona and leave it at that?

Sept
- Bern (2)
- Strasbourg or Stuttgart (1)
- Bonn (1)
- Koln (1)
- Aachen (a few nights staying with friends)
- Hamburg (2)
- Berlin (5)
- Dresden (a few nights staying with friends)
- Nurnburg (1)
18-23 - Munich (Oktoberfest)(5)
- Salzburg (1)
- Innsbruck (1)
- Zurich (1)
27 - Fly Friedrichshafen to Dublin
28 - Bus from Dublin to Belfast, Ferry/Train to Glasgow

Oct
1 - Fly Glasgow to Vancouver (home)
8-18 - Road trip down the Oregon Coast to California and back
19-27 - Visit with family/friends and rest
28 - Fly Vancouver to Glasgow (look for a job and work for a few months to mend a broken bank account)

Ya La Tomatina is class, I went there the night before, the whole town is set up for a huge party with outdoor pubs and clubs free drink, free hats. Then I just slept on the street. Valencia was packed out though you needed to book way in advance to find anywhere to sleep, so I hadn't much choice about going to Bunol and sleeping on the street.

Nice itinerary.

Here's a few places of interest in France:

1. The Palace of Versailles, Versailles. It was "The Sun God", Louis the XIV's residence. It has halls with fourteen foot mirrors.

2. Giverny. Monet's house and garden where he painted his pond lilly series.

3. Arles. There's a Roman ampitheatre and probably a museum at Van Gogh's Yellow house. He painted sunflowers there until Gauguin arrived then he painted "The Night Cafe".

4. Nice, and south eastern France. The light is beautiful, there's beaches, and good cuisine. Did I mention Matisse painted there? It may be where rich people go but there are hostels.

Good luck.
