My Final Italy Itinerary
Ok my plane tickets are booked and I have set my Italy trip in stone. I hope this is a good itinerary... as it is my very first that I have ever planned.
Fly out June 1 to Dublin (have to do this, school is paying for my plane ticket from Minneapolis to Dublin) Fly out June 2 to Venice 3 nights in Venice 3 nights in Cinque Terre 3 nights in Rome 3 nights in Ischia (day trips to Capri and stop in Naples for the museum and pizza) 3 nights in Sorrento (day trips to Pompeii and Amalfi coast-- Positano and maybe Amalfi) Night train to Venice (trenitalia says there is one so there better be one) Fly back to Dublin for 2 weeks in Ireland!!! I thought about it, and I am going to save the Tuscany region for another trip. So Florence, Sienna, and Lucca will have to wait another time, as well as Assissi which I would also like to visit and maybe Sicily. |

And if you're doing Rome, it's definitely wise to save Tuscany for another trip. You'll get sick of art and ruins! Good move there. Italy *is* two different countries, so doing it in two trips is smart! (Though you're going to get culture shock going from Sicily to Tuscany and vice versa... ) |
Very Cool, so glad to see you leave June 1. I have to wait till June 9. I agree about the Blue Grotto, its a must do when going to Capri. Keep us posted:)

Cinque Terre is amazing! Make sure that you do the 10k hike on the coast, and bring plenty of water because it is ALL hills! Also when you are in Ireland, go to Galway, it is one of my fav cities. It's big enough but still the small town atmosphere, plus it is a good starting point for the aran islands!
Have so much fun!! |
