Smile Europe Summer 2007

so my solo trip to italy went so well last summer that now i have the travel bug and my boyfriend and i are planning our first trip together!

we have about 3 weeks of travel time and originally planned on just going to spain, but of course, our trip is growing in size. so right now, we are looking at flying into amsterdamn and leaving from spain.

for 23 days

amsterdamn
4 days
brussels
1 day
(train to paris--get off, have lunch, wander a bit and get back on same day)
paris
4 days
barc
4 days
malaga
2 days
tarifa
3 days
madrid
4 days

i'm a little unsure about malaga AND tarifa...maybe valencia and tarifa or tarifa and sevilla?
also, how about the amount of time spent in each place? it's nice to have some chill time but also do want to be able to see as much as possible, museums and beach time included.

any suggestions on this one?

Your timeline looks SWEET! Last summer, the wife and I were in Amsterdam 4 days, Paris 4 days, belgium 4 days. I felt like we had plenty of time. We will be back in Amsterdam twice June/July, whats your travel dates?

Yeah, we fly into A dam June 10 for 4 days again then flying out to the greek isles for a little over 2 weeks, then back into A dam and Haarlem, staying there 2 nights in the Groht Market area. Finally leaving July 3.

As for A dam, we really liked "The Quentin" in the Leidseplien. Sooooo relaxed, the front desk guys are the coolest. 50 euro a night for a double.
This time we are staying in a B&B in Amsterdam South. Its called the Garden View bed and breakfast. Private room with breakfast served in your room. A little more 75 euro a night. Why not, I found us oceanfront rooms in Santorini for 30 euro a night. If you go to the B&B, request the west room, there are only 2 rooms. Its literally in the owners back yard overlooking a canal. I've heard shes very nice, so we will see.

Where you going in Belgium Tony? Last year we stayed in Brugge and soooooooooo love that place.

Did I mention the FINE beer in Belgium

Definitely go to Malaga. I lived there for a month in April, and I absolutely loved it. it serves as a great place for day trips to nerja, Seville, Ronda, Granada ect ect ect, I found the bus routes really easy to master. I think you're spending too long in Madrid. It's a nifty city, but I think two days is enough to see all of the major sights.

5 days
brussels
1 day
(train to paris--get off, have lunch, wander a bit and get back on same day)
paris
5 days
barc

i have kept 5 days in adam, paris and barc with hopes of day trips...4 days in madrid because we are unsure as to where we're flying out of...may leave on the 3th day and fly home from paris, etc.

also we are not set on tarifa, but i love the idea of going over to morocco for the day...i've heard tangiers is the tiajuana of morocco...yes, no?
i can't really get a handle on spain just yet...
