Hey all... I was wondering what anyone thinks about my plan. Im flying to Paris and 6 weeks later Im leaving from Paris... thats all that I have planned. I want to spend half my time in France and half in Italy.
What I am worried about is that I might find that I just love Paris and stay, say 25 days. That leaves just 11 days for Italy... but what if I find Italy is 100000000x better then France... guess I stuffed it up?
So I think if I spend say 1 week in France, go to Italy, get a feel for it, if I find I enjoy it more, stay there for the rest of the trip... or if I find France better, I get back there and spend my time there.
Any ideas?
Thanks, David

I think it sounds like a good idea to stay a week in Paris then if you really love it don't leave. If you think you'd like to go somewhere from there then do it but don't plan too much in advance.
Good luck.

yeah, I agree with maineartist. If you find somewhere that you love, stay as long as you want. It's YOUR trip. I've never been a big fan of the whole see-how-many-places-you-can-visit-in-a-trip concept. Having done a bit of both styles I can say that my favorite experiences were during longer stays in places....but that's just me

Even if you absolutely adore Paris, you probably won't want to stay there the entire time - but you have plenty of time to play with if you're limiting yourself to just France and Italy. The great thing is, you know you have to come back to fly out of Paris, so stay a week or two if you love it, then go to Italy for a while, always knowing that you can come back and spend another week or two there if you want at the end. No matter how amazing someplace else is, spending time in a place you love is never a waste.

i just came back from 3 weeks in italy and although its great being in a country for that amount of time, i did find myself starting to get a bit ansty. italy is cool because its easy to get around and its not difficult to see the big stuff, all around the country. when you're in a place for that long you have a bit more freedom to move around if you don't like a particular place. let me tell you...3 weeks was awesome, but after a while, the pasta starts to all taste the same!
if you need any help on italy...give me a shout!

And now we start the tpunk chant.. Pho-tos! Pho-tos! Pho-tos!
It's kind alike watching Jerry Springer. Except we expect to see more fighting and flashing.
