Hi, all! Heading out on my first solo trip (more or less) on July 20th! Meeting up with a friend in London first and then spending a few days with her in Paris, then I'm on my own! Leaving from Berlin August 3rd.
Anyway, think the itinerary will go something like this (but obviously open to changes as I go along):
July 21st - arrive London
July 22nd- London
July 23rd- leave London for Paris, Paris
July 24th - Paris
July 25th- Paris
July 26th- Paris, maybe leave for Belgium?
July 27th- Belgium (either Brussels or Bruges, not sure yet)
July 28th - Belgium
July 29th - leave Belgium for Mannheim?, Mannheim
July 30th - probably leave Mannheim for Berlin
July 31- Berlin
August 1 - Berlin
August 2 - Berlin
August 3 - Berlin, head home.
I don't know-- too ambitious for only two weeks? Should I only spend a day in Belgium to spend more time in Berlin?
Anyway, that's about what I've got planned at the moment. (:

The pace seems pretty good for a two week trip - not trying to cram in too many stops or enormously long distances. Why Mannheim specifically? I'm always curious when people pick things that are off the normal circuit - maybe they have some secret knowledge they wish to share with the rest of us! I like those off beat places.

I say you're alright with just 3 days in Berlin, just so long as not much of that time is eaten up by travel. I had a 3 day weekend in Berlin about a year and a half ago, and found that amount of time was good.

Mannheim is just because I have a friend there that I haven't seen in a year (he used to be an exchange student at my university but he's since gone back to his own school) and since he's a native German, well, I figure it'll be nice to have a native to show me around and to go out with since my German is pretty schlect, lol. But yeah, no big secret, just visiting a friend.
I actually need to figure out what ELSE to do there since he's got exams to study for and right now my only planned activity there is hanging out with him. Probably only staying a night, but if there are castles or something nearby, I may try to find those as well. (:

I spent a month in England a few years back and spent some time in London during that period, so it's not really at the top of my priority list is all. I want to focus on mainland Europe, but my friend who is coming with me to Paris lives in London at the moment, so figured we'd just meet up there and, well, I can stay at her flat for a few days, so that is nice and free. (: But apart from that, I just want to spend most of this trip on the mainland is all. (: Also, I am not going to have much cash for a shopping spree, hahah. Lucky for me, the first time I went to London my dad was with me, so I got a little taste of their shopping then. (: Not that I appreciated it as much when I was 16, but once I have a real job (I'm a student at the moment) I'm sure there will be many more shopping sprees to come! hahah.
Sorry you won't be in Germany until later! I'd be up for meeting some Tpunkers along the way!
