:greenguy: Transformers hands down!

expatben 06-08-2006 03:28 PM

Simpsons-first adult themed cartoon. Anyone remember Simpsonmania when they were just about everywhere? DO THE BARTMAN!

TheJake 06-08-2006 03:32 PM

though im not a fan i gotta say Star Trek.

Anyone watch any of those "How william shatner changed the world" series that they had on tv?

Very interesting stuff.

aliz 06-08-2006 03:35 PM

The simpsons.. have you seen the 'simpsons did it' episode of south park?

Rozza 06-08-2006 03:48 PM

Family guy. Axed twice, but still going strong because of the public.

omisan 06-08-2006 04:17 PM

Unfortunately, The Real World. Along with Cops, it was among the first reality shows on American TV, and with the help of some bastard British producers, we started getting the first wave of horrible, low-budget, writing-free, creativity-challenged television.

Spawning a whole industry of flavor-of-the-weak catch phrases like "You are the weakest link, goodbye!" and "You're fired!" seminal reality TV shows like the Real World proved that TV audiences in America and beyond are complete and utter sheep ripe for the herding, and started the ball rolling for an intolerable number of "reality" based television that's anything but realistic.

^^ That was definitely a thought of mine.

Otherwise, definitely Simpsons. Been the longest running TV show.

expatben 06-08-2006 04:48 PM

Star Trek certainly did as it opened up that whole SciFi relm, and yeah unfortunatly real world had an impact too.

rae_of_sunshine 06-08-2006 05:11 PM

Definately the Simpsons and, more recently, the Family Guy

d_fresh 06-09-2006 04:54 AM

where's Saturday Night Live?
from that list I'd have to say Star Trek, but when it comes to comedy, SNL was groundbreaking.

florencia9699 06-09-2006 07:25 AM

Deffinitely The Simpsons and also SNL.

Echeverry 06-10-2006 08:04 PM
