Went to New Orleans for my first ever hosteling experience, and had the best time of my life. Stayed in the India House.....Since this was my first one, I really have no basis of comparison, but the only complaints the more seasoned travelers I met had, was it was a little on the dirty side, and it had no security lockers, but other than that it was awesome.

I was at India house in New Orleans last St. Patrick's Day...it's highly recommended from this t-p as well... and if you want some gourmet SH** seafood, try Jacque Emo's near the hostel (but you'll pay for it!).

bbbbbbbbbbbbb.........

CanadianDude, you DO realize that Mardi Gras ENDS on February 8th, right?

hehehe...what are your travel plans for March? I'm still gonna be in the US for at least half of it, maybe all depending on what happens.

I know its over in Feb....

Doesn't make New Orleans any less desireable, I just hope I can swing this trip, $$$ is a bit tight at the moment, but it looks like all will be ok i think.

If your in the area, ill buy you a pint!

CD-

Don't worry, dude. NO is a party anytime of the year... it's actually easier to get around in the non- carnivale times. Mardi Gras gets a little messy at times (the streets can become very gross).
