Has anyone had any experiences with the following hostels in Cancun? "Mexico Hostels" (http://www.mexicohostels.com/) or "Soberanis Hostel" (http://www.soberanis.cjb.net/). Are there any other good hostels in Cancun in this price range?

I want to visit the following places:

El Rey Ruins
Xel-Ha National Park
Chichén Itzá
Tulum
Uxmal
Xcaret

Does it make sense to commute from Cancun to each place, or is there a better location to stay at that is a central to commute from? How much would it be to travel from Cancun to each place? I'd perfer the cheapest option, so I guess it would be by bus....?

Does anyone know if there are any good places to stay (camping, or hostels.. or in that price range) near each place that I want to visit so then I won't have to commute each time and can just move on to the next place (with a new place to stay that is close by)

Does anyone know of any other places to see or things to do in this area?

All those places are situated around cancun, if I remember correctly, and you can pretty easily base yourself there if you want to.

if you want to see those sites i would suggest looking for accomidations in playa del carmen... cancn is uver-priced and over-rated... playa is a great place and closer to the places you want to see.

Xel-ha is amazing... so is chiken-Ha and x-caret... but playa is the place to stay, not cancun.

I suggest you look into Merida. It is the regional capital of that area, I believe. If I remembe right, it is a bus transportation hub, too. It is where I will base myself out of when I take that Mayan Mexico trip I have in my back pocket on standby.

Plus, it will be a more authentic Mexico, less touristy.
