By the way I have been searching hostels online but seems like they all have some pretty negative reviews. Most want cash and I am not sure I want to carry a bunch of cash around. One I found outside the city sounds pretty good but I wonder if I will spend all my time navigating the city. I only have 3 days.

I am new to this forum and hope I am doing this right. I am going to Italy this summer after a study abroad program through my college. I need a cheap safe place to stay in Rome. I noticed you said you have found good places in Rome. Where did you stay? Any help or advise you can give would be helpful. I have never been to Europe. I am traveling alone and I am on a tight budget. I am open to staying in a hostel or guesthouse or whatever just don't want to be in a bad neighborhood. I don't mind a curfew and not into the party scene. Need a safe place to leave luggage behind too.
