Question

Alright, check me out. I am actually posting travel plans. Woohoo! That is right folks, I will finally brave it and work towards a goal of setting my foot on land farther east the NYC. I might actually put that passport to use (finally).

Alright, enough of my useless dribble. I am departing Fri, Mar 11 for London, England. Arrive early Sat morn. Hang out in ye olde London Sat & Sun. Sun fly out using Ryanair to Rome, Italy. Visit Rome for a day or two and head down to Naples to see Pompeii and Mt. Vesuvius and other mumble jumble. Head back to Rome to fly back to England on Friday sometime. Hang out in London again for Sat and Sun and fly back to good ol' Detroit on Sunday just in time to go to work Monday morning. Quick trip, lots to do, but its just a taste so I can that craving for more.

If anyone happens to be around London on the 12/13/19/20 let me know, we can catch a bite or a pint. If anyone will be around Rome-Naples on the 14/15/16/17 same thing.

For some reason I thought I posted about this, but I can't remember and can't find it. I think I was just talking about it in the chatroom. So, in the event I am repeating myself just associate it to the fact I hang out with Italians and they repeat their stories all the time.

Despite being a newcomer to this website, I wish I could say that we could meet up. However, I will be visiting Rome and Naples 2 weeks after you are there. Best of luck, and if you like, please share any experiences you may have there.

Sincerely,
Finkle55

Congrats Sij! You will have a great time. I love London. Make sure you check out the British War Museum and the Tower of London. Touristy I know but cool nonetheless.

Check out Camden Town as well....kind of a funky alternative/punk neighborhood.....they have a big crazy street market on Saturdays (I think its Sat and not Sun but not 100% sure) Great for people watching. There are some rock clubs in the area if your into that.

One oddity (to me)......Newcastle, which is of course British.....is on tap all over the place in the U.S.....you can only find it in bottles in the U.K. Don't know why.

Then...they have Budweiser on tap in all the pubs....and people actually drink it. Are they crazy???? All that great local beer and they drink Budweiser?? Just goes to show that marketing is everything.

Try the London Pride ale.....delicious. Sorry....got off on a London ramble.....Have an awesome time!!

Unfortunately, my London trip has been cancelled. I was laid off and it turns out I won't be able to make it. Plus I am hoping an entrepreneurial idea of mine might work out in March. Sorry. But there are plenty of people over in Britain at that time. I am sure they would be up for hanging out.
