I don't have a lot of first hand experience with it myself but I did a lot of research because for awhile I was looking into a language tool for learning Mandarin. The reviews and personal commentary I found on Pimsleur was more favorable than any other language aid. It is very conversational based and tries to give you a core of the most commonly used phrases and vocabulary that you can then expand upon gradually. I would recommend you look for individual comments/opinions from people who have used it and other products and try to understand the method of teaching and try to best match that to your own personal learning style. Different people learn in different ways. Its important to know how you best absorb information and try to find a tool that teaches to your strong points. Good luck!
