Hey all. Just looking for anyone who might be one of dem good German talkers Anyhow, I'm learning German and would like someone to correspond with (via email) who could maybe help me learn more vocab, slang, grammar, etc. I have one year of HS (which I actually remember a lot of!) and just recently purchased some good software that does voice stuff, so i've been practicing, but it'd be easier if I had some to "chat" with, to directly ask questions and stuff. I only have a year to become fluent! (I want to be fluent before moving )If you're interested in corresponding via email, use jamiepea54603@hotmail.com

thanks a bundle

I would suggest you check the Goethe Institute website. There are hundreds of adds from people around the world.

Just my 2c...

I brushed up on my german skills by finding german people on ICQ (easy search for different countries) and also just by finding german chat rooms and just watching the conversations that go on.. Its good to learn how germans speak and what words they use, rather than just learning a whole heap of words from a german dictionary...

"Nein, nein, NEIN!!" is all you need to know. Oh shit that's only good when you go down the Reepersbahn in Hamburg and the prostitutes start pulling your clothes off

I got advice from a lady I work with who was in the army in Germany.

"Ein Bier, bitte"
That's it. That's all the German you need.

"Wo ist meine Hose?" might come in handy, too.

Ich mochte ein Bild von dir.

That's a decent conversation opener...
