^^ Jajajaja qué quieres decir?
Ok, I'm gonna explain the whole Español vs. Castellano deal in English so there is no more confusion. I was talking with a US exchange student here in Buenos Aires and he knew it already, but I know it's not of common knowledge:
Truth be told there is no "Spanish" language. When Spain united (some hundreds of years ago) every kingdom in Spain spoke different languages. Such is the case of the Kingdom of Castilla, Aragón or Granada (which had an inmense Arabic influence after the 400 years they were invaded by the Arabics).
When the catholic kings (who where from Castilla) united all the kindoms and it became the Kingdom of Spain, they chose their own language, castellano, for everyone to speak. So what everyone now mistakenly calls "Spanish" is in fact Castellano. You may also see it as "lengua española". In Argentina we use castellano, we only use "español" for someone who is from Spain. But not for the language. And i'm pretty sure it must be like that (or should be) in other Spanish speaking countries.
Anyways, I know you guys will keep calling it Spanish (and i know there is no other way of saying it in English). But I thought it would be cool for everyone who is interested in learnng Spanish, to know the real name and origin of the language they're putting effort into learning.
Besides, we learn something new every day, don't we?
Hope I cleared the confussion!

Carajo!

Actually, outside of Spain, "Castellano" is used in most of South America, but Central Americans, Mexicans and latin Caribbeans call the language "Español"

My Spanish teacher the other day was presenting theory that is popular with the intellects of Spain, of which Spanish the Spanish speaking countries of the Western Hemisphere are speaking. The theory is that since most of the ships that discovered the western hemisphere sailed from the city of Sevilla, that the Spanish speaking countries of today are speaking an older form of Spanish, a form older than Castellano. Their evidence for this is a lot of nautical phrases and terms still in use in the Western Hemisphere but no longer used in Spain. So in other words, the Spanish spoken in Spanish speaking countries of the Western Hemisphere are speaking a more ancient version of Spanish. Im not saying I believe this, so please don't be offended.
