Ia dumaiu, chto tui right !

Don't know if my phonetic works... I tried to make it sound english. Tui ponimaech ? (ponimaiech, ponima'ech, or panimaech ???) We'd have to come up with something understandable ! Do we go by grammar (ponimat') or spoken russian (panimat') ?

JeanB 06-29-2006 01:36 AM

I agree that we are gonna have to come to an understanding with the way our phonetic works........i was taught by an old girlfriend and i found that her phonetic really sounded like the way they spoke. So maybe use Y for Ya and S for shto so its truly phonetic E.G
ya paneemayu
tee paneemayesh
ya hachu praktika moy rooski yazeek s tebya (terrible grammar i know!) patamu shto mnye veryu yesli ya nye gavareet pa rooski, potom ya budu zabivat vsyo rooski slova. ya neekagda nye ezoochal rooski yazeek v schole, ya tolka znayu shto moy brat y padrooga prepodaval mnye (that is why i know lots of words but no grammar!) .....y tee??

ya toje dumayu shto eta haroshaw idyee (language conversation club i mean) y tee ochen krute Tpunker :worship: . paneemayesh?? ya nadyeyus!

paka y nazdaroviye

p.s phonetically, your name sounds like you have a cold. and your picture reinforces my suspicions.....maybe its a pollen allergy.

Esterina 06-30-2006 06:51 PM

OK, I'll try... keep in mind that my phonetic may sound french.

Tvoy brat roockee ? Ya toje eezootchala roocki yazeek 6 nyedelya (plural?). Roocki yazeek mnye yecho otchen troodneell (difficult) !

Hmmm, nyet, nye paneemayu "nadyeyus". :blink2:

Very funny your comment about atchoum ! Yes, atchoum is french for achoo, but I had never noticed how the "namaste" could seem like someone blowing his nose !

JeanB 07-01-2006 06:09 AM

patamu shto mnye veryu yesli ya nye gavareet pa rooski, potom ya budu zabivat vsyo rooski slova. =

because i believe (menya veryu) if (yesli) i don't speak russian, then i will forget (zabivat) all russian words.

Ya nadyeyus = i hope.

I dont understand 6 nyedelya . Im sure i know this word but i cannot remember. k sazhalyeniyu!!! pazhalsta pamageet menya

y tee toje krute, no nye stol krute kak lizz :P

moy brat nye rooski....an anglichalni malchik.....no an eezoochyal rooski v schole, y seychas an jivyet v moskva......Mee bliznyets

Udachee, y pomneet......eta ochen troodna razgavareet pa rooski, no mee mojem vsyegda staratsa (i think this means goodluck and remember.....its difficult to speak russian, but we can always try )

tselayu tebya :kisscheek:
paka...

Esterina 07-01-2006 06:33 PM

You'll be my teacher ! :worship:

6 nyedelya = 6 weeks. I guess I have to work on my phonetic... ;)

ctol ? table ???

priviet ! :friends:

JeanB 07-02-2006 12:33 PM

stol kind of means so or as.......I learnt it in the context of comparatives.....particularly when describing that something is not as good as something else. what i said was that you are cool, but not as cool as liz ( Ya ochen izvinyus......Liz nye gavareet na rooskom yazeek. Tak ya dumayu shto tee namnoga loochshye chyem liz). Another useful word for comparatives is chyem (see above)..... E.G tee gavareesh na loochshyem frantsooskom yazeek CHYEM ya.

I am so stupid and cant believe i forgot and couldnt figure out nyedelya as weeks. your phonetic is perfect.

moy rooski yazeek nye ochyen haroshaw. Ya znayu mnoga slov, no moya grammaticka ujastne! Mee budem pryepodovat droog drooga
:friends:

Ok then, I'll teach you the alphabet. What do you think ? :mf_w00t2: I'll feel like I know russian better than you... :smoke:

It's really simple, by the way, especially that you already know the language. A couple of days and you'll be used to it.

JeanB 07-26-2006 08:51 AM
