what's up gang? love the site. it's a huge help to someone like me who has made it this far without sleeping in a hostel. let alone a solo trip.
i'm 28, from the boston area, and looking to catch up on all the travelling i should've done right out of college. i'm hoping this is the first in a series of trips over the next couple of years. there's a lot of the world i'd like to see but i'm on a very limited budget.
i finally pulled the trigger and booked a solo trip to iceland. 10 days. i'm leaving may 20th and am working on a loose itinerary. it's tough to see a country with so much and know that i'm going to have to limit myself to a few choice areas. i'd like to settle in and really get the feel for a couple of places rather than circumnavigate the country.
that being said, anyone been to iceland and have suggestions on where to go and what to do? i only know a couple of people who have been and they each have a different take. one swears by the western fjiords, another is telling me that the southeast is the way to go. i'm not looking for hardcore hiking, since i'll be limited gear-wise, but i'm primarily going to experience the landscape. i also plan on spending a few nights in reykjavik.
thanks everyone,
~collin
