Okay, I dunno how a year a half slipped by ... sigh. I had all these dreams of continuing to backpack but then life sort of got in the way after i got back from oz ... I got: promoted, a boyfriend, blah blah ... but I missed you guys (moc, tp, cd, dio, cliffo, and co.. hope you guys remember me somewhat) and all the camaraderie and wonderful stories of adventure and traveling ...

soooo ... next week I head off to Vietnam! Alas, it's for work, but hey ... a month on assignment in a warm country with rich history-- on the company tab no less ... I can't complain!! first off is a week's stay at Furama Resort in Da Nang (I know, backpacker horror, 5-star resort) but it's for a travel story!!! And then the remainder of my trip in Saigon for a look at all the nightclubs, fashion & lifestyle.

It's not backpacking, but I'll take it! Hope all is well with you guys!

But seriously, you are missed get back on when you have time, I checked and it looks like tips on Vietnam are dwindling, so a play by play would be sweeeeeeeeeeet

Hey Katdawg...welcome back! Don't worry...just about all of us have had to take time away from TP for a few months or so. You'll always be welcome here.

And CD's right: Give us the scoopage on Vietnam. I haven't made it there, yet, but enjoyed the heck out of everywhere else in SE Asia that I've been!

awww, thanks for the warm response guys!

well, to answer some of your questions, i am a newspaper reporter. i cover lifestyle&trends. i normally write about the latest IT pair of $400 jeans or how mullets have made a comeback (pulitzer-worthy, totally) but this year they've sent me to New York and Vegas to cover runway fashion (paris and milan, i've got my eye on you!!!) and next week, Vietnam to write about the booming tourism there. i am sooo stoked as i was born here in the states and it's my first look at the motherland. i can't wait to leave behind this wet rain for the balmy 92 degree weather. ahhh. it is on like donkey kong baby.

i hope to add plenty of fun stuff and stories from vietnam when i get back ...

hopefully this time, i won't be mistaken for a ladyboy.

Welcome back from another T-Punker that came after your heyday. That ladyboy story is funny shit - I am glad that was resurrected. Having spent some time in Thailand though......I could see how it could mess with a guys head. As a local explained to me...there is a famous saying in Thailand...."The most beautiful women in Thailand are men" Also, given that many ladyboys hang out around western oriented bars to try to pick up drunk foreigners.....you have a recipe for disaster for some poor bastards. Anyway...sorry to dredge up bad memories.

Definately let us know how Vietnam is....it's on my list to hit up...maybe in the next year or so. Cheers!
